DMV SOUND SYSTEM ASSOCIATION

In 2018, Waldo "Wally" Williams founded the DMV Sound System Association (DSA) to protect, preserve, and promote the original Caribbean sound  system tradition in the Washington, DC region. What began as a passion project has grown into a thriving collective of:

• 13 fully operational and active sound system members
• A growing presence in community events, youth mentorship programs, and cultural showcases rooted in Caribbean traditions.

DSA is more than just a series of events — it is a movement. A movement dedicated to preserving an art form, uplifting grassroots culture, and passing the torch to the next generation.
