Help Us Assist Jamaica Recover - Hurricane Relief Drive
DSA Family,
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, we watched in heartbreak as Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, leaving devastation in its path. In the days that followed, we’ve witnessed the unimaginable — communities destroyed, lives lost, and families struggling to rebuild from the ground up.
As a community built on unity, culture, and sound, the DMV Sound System Association (DSA) cannot stand by in silence. Our roots run deep, and when our Caribbean family hurts, we feel it too.
We’re calling on our members, supporters, and friends to join our relief drive to help those who have lost everything. Every contribution — big or small — makes a difference.
We are collecting donations, including but not limited to:
- Non-perishable food items (can goods, rice, flour, etc)
- Bottled water
- Toiletries and hygiene products
- Feminine products
- Clothing and shoes (clean and gently used)
- Blankets, sheets, and towels
- Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula)
- First aid supplies

Event Recap: 7th Annual Riddim & Roots Sound Festival 2025
Thank you to everyone who supported and attended the DSA Riddim & Roots Sound Festival 2025.
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the DMV came alive with heavy bass lines, sweet melodies, and cultural energy at Lamont’s Entertainment Center in Indian Head, Maryland. Sound system owners, engineers, and selectors from across the region showcased the rich traditions of Caribbean sound system culture while celebrating its vibrant future.
